We are excited to be offering dance classes in Dexter again during the 2024-2025 dance season!

 

You may register for Dexter classes online at https://dancestudio-pro.com/online/thomasschoolofdance.  When registering online, please opt-in for email communication!  Or, you may register in person during our reception hours listed below at our studio located at 193 Union Street in Bangor.

 

 

We will be open in Bangor for In-Studio Registration & Shoe/Merchandise Sales:                                

Tuesdays 8/6, 8/13, 8/20 8/27 & 9/3 5:00-7:00 pm.

Monday-Thursday 8/19-8/22 5:30-7:15 pm.

 

 

 Dexter Classes

Classes will be held on Fridays beginning September 6th at the Ridge View Community School in Dexter!

All Dexter classes have the opportunity to perform in the spring recital.

 

3:45-4:30 Preschool Combo Tap/Ballet for Ages 3-5 not yet in kindergarten.

 

4:30-5:15 Tap/Ballet Combo 1/2 Youth ages 5-6 and new 7 year olds

 

5:15-6:15 Tap/Ballet Combo 3/4  Youth ages 8-12 and returning 7 year olds -ON HOLD

 

6:15-6:45 Contemporary/Lyrical  Minimum age 8 and up (Teens & Adults are welcome) -ON HOLD

 

6:45-7:15 Ballet Age 13 and up (Teens & Adults are welcome) -ON HOLD

 

7:15-7:45 Tap Age 13 and up (Teens & Adults are welcome)-ON HOLD

 

*Please note the schedule of  classes is subject to change to accommodate enrollment and interests.

 

 

 

 

Please note that classes in Dexter have their own pricing and do not follow the same calendar info as our Bangor classes.

We are pleased to be able to offer convenient classes in Dexter at discounted rates!

Tuition rates per student:

30-45 minute class -$50 per month

1 hour class-$56 per month

1.5 hours class -$84 per month

 

Three equal monthly tuition payments will be due in September, October & November.

December’s tuition will be adjusted based on how many class weeks are actually held over the fall.

 


 

Dress Code for Youth Classes

We sell Mary-Jane and Oxford style taps for youth as well as ballet shoes for youth and adults at our location in Bangor.  We also have a selection of youth through adult leotards and tights in a variety of colors and styles.

 

 

Preschool Combination

Girls should have a solid color leotard and tights. Skirts, legwarmers and sweaters are optional. Girls need black Mary-Jane style tap shoes and pink ballet shoes.   We recommend and sell a Mary-Jane style tap shoe with a quality tap and a quick velcro closure. Boys should wear white t-shirts and black shorts or dance tights and black tap and black ballet shoes. Hair should be secured out of face; long hair should be pulled back. Small stud earrings only may be worn for jewelry.

 

 

Youth Combination Tap/Ballet Classes

Tap 

Students taking the 30 minute tap class for ages 13 and up should wear a leotard and tights or a top and bottoms at or above the ankle such as leggings, jazz shorts or jazz pants. Tap students will need Oxford style black tap shoes. Hair should be secured out of face; long hair should be pulled back. Small stud earrings only may be worn for jewelry.

 

Ballet

Students taking the ballet class for ages 13 and up must wear a solid color leotard,  pink tights and pink ballet slippers.  Hair is to be secured neatly in a bun. Small stud earrings only may be worn for jewelry. Leg warmers, skirts and “shrug” sweaters/fitted warmups are optional. Dance shorts may be worn at the discretion of the teacher in certain circumstances. The teacher will let dancers know when other dress options, etc. are appropriate.
